I currently have over 50 different species of southern native trees growing in my yard in Texas. Some of them are thriving, some of them are doing OK, some of them are struggling, and some of them are doomed or dead. The health status below is a snapshot from June 23rd 2023. As we go into July, August, and September, the terrible heat always drives the health of many of the trees further down-hill. Above is a picture of 8 newly arrived mail-order trees, ready to plant (from 2014). In order left to right: Longleaf Pine, American Holly, American Beech, Eastern Red Cedar, Shagbark Hickory, Cherrybark Oak, American Elm, Sassafras
