The Tulip Tree is very common in the acidic cove forest bowls and near streams in my forest. There are some truly huge specimens. The bark is quite variable but very often has white furrows between long vertical grey ridges. The leaves are very characteristic - uniquely shaped. Nearly all the trees in these two winter views through the bowl in Lot A are Tulip trees.
As are the trees in this spring canopy view.
A couple of very large trees towards the southern end of Lot A. The first one has a circumference at chest-height of 9ft 6.5 inches.
