The Sweet Birch is very abundant in my forest, especially along streams and in the bowls. It has a smooth mid-grey bark with horizontal lenticels when young, and this becomes much rougher and darker in older specimens. The leaves are elliptical and doubly serrated, turning yellow in the autumn. The largest specimen is on a little island between two streams at the northern end of Lot B. Its circumference at chest-height is 6ft 9.75".
